Revised Launch Date

Posted on: April 15th, 2012

Hello all! It’s been quiet for a month now, so I thought you all deserved an update on our progress! The site is now coming along just nicely, as is our infrastructure setup. We have reset the Open Beta launch countdown once again to April 20th 2012. This is our new date, which hopefully we won’t have to change.

During the Open Beta, you will all be invited to come and sample our wares free of charge. It’s very important that we get good and honest feedback on the service we are offering. Do make sure that you are subscribed to our mailer (just enter your email on the Landing Page) – that way you will be the first to know when we are ready to go!

Update

Posted on: February 14th, 2012

Just a quick update as we have hit the latest launch date. We are so close now I can just about taste it. The cloud is up and purring along. All the VMs await clients and everything is installed from plugins to themes to components to backup systems. My “To Do” list is shrinking every day but is still a few pages long.

I’m pretty sure I can get everything squared away in the next few days. I’ve set the 18th as the date and my next post will be one saying we are launching into a short Beta phase.

We’ve been busy at HostNexus due to a slew of renewed interest and orders plus a major Plesk security patch that came bundled with some low-level hacking and dossing, always fun. Plus it seems I’m surrounded by influenza right now and while I haven’t caught the flu, I am severely under the weather and not able to spend as much time glued to my monitors as I’d like. This has held up my website polishing phase but that is now done and the last set of minor updates and tweaks is into the designers and should be done within a few days.

Pretty much the only major thing I have to get done is the “Reactor”, our highly modified WHMCS which will be the heart of the operation. I just need to finish off that configuration, test all the auto-provisioning, and we should be good to go. Saturday or Sunday for sure!

I’ve received a lot of email from interested parties and will also be sending a launch mail to all those subscribed on the list here and also to the HostNexus client base.

New Launch Date

Posted on: January 26th, 2012

Just a quick post to announce that I’m pushing back the Beta Launch to tentative date of February 14th. It took me longer than I planned to get the hardware sorted out but it was worth doing as I got a great deal in the end but this does mean that we aren’t quite ready yet to go live. (more…)

Pricing It All In

Posted on: December 29th, 2011

So how much does it cost to setup a hosting operation? Start-up costs for Cloud Hosting are going to be a bit higher than that of standard hosting as you have to buy a lot of extra hardware. But to be honest it’s not a huge difference from someone jumping into the hosting market and buying a server. (more…)

What The Hell Is Cloud Hosting Anyway?

Posted on: December 3rd, 2011

There is alot of confusion and disagreement in the industry as to what Cloud Hosting actually is. When I look around it seems everyone has a different idea and offer up differing definitions as to what Cloud Hosting but when you break it down there is an underlying foundation that I believe all would agree on. Design Update

Posted on: November 17th, 2011

Yikes, almost 3 weeks since my last post. Things have been busy at HostNexus thanks to Godaddy calling it quits on their coldfusion hosting, but I haven’t been slacking off on AtomicVPS either. I’ve been chasing designers and researching data centers amongst other things. (more…)
